Cristina Garriga (b. 1986 in Barcelona, Spain) lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland.
Garriga graduated from ETSAB Barcelona Architecture School, Spain in 2012. After working as an artist in collaboration with various architecture studios in Barcelona, Spain and Berlin, Germany, she moved to Glasgow, Scotland to specialise in Sculpture. In 2014 she completed her studies at the Glasgow School of Art, MLitt in Fine Art Practice. Trained both as an architect and as an artist, her practice aims to expand the conventions of art, architecture, and technology, envisioning alternate ways of being and in inhabiting the world. Her work often takes shape in installations, printed matter and online projects that question the dynamics of social encounters in today’s society.
Garriga started My Bookcase project in September 2014 as a means to explore a collaborative practice with a focus on the object of the book.
