Hugo Scott

Hugo Scott was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and now lives and works in New York, USA.

His work in both photography and film encompasses a broad range of themes ranging from social and documentary to fashion and portraiture. Scott’s work is characterised by a spontaneity and a genuineness that evokes the subject and their situation. He travels extensively and often spends lengthy periods immersing himself in the situations he is documenting.

His work has been featured in NY Times, Love Magazine, Dazed and Confused and Print Publication.

Scott is part of the Photography Collective Dobedo for who he has been part of Group shows and is currently working with on his first book.

Exhibition

The first UK exhibition by Hugo Scott, the New York-based photographer and filmmaker; On the edge of town features new and recent photographs documenting contemporary life in the USA. Scott’s work spans social documentary, fashion and portraiture and is characterised by its spontaneity and empathy with the subject. His work has been featured in the New York Times, Love Magazine, Dazed and Confused and Print Publication. He is part of the photography collective DoBeDo (dobedo.co.uk).
