Jo Tomlinson (b.1985 in Glasgow, Scotland) lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland.
Tomlinson investigates a relationship between physical and lens based works. Beginning with formal concerns of our cultural and philosophical connections with objects and structures, then developing this via curiosity about the process of sensory response and materiality. By deconstructing and re constructing the familiar to present new contexts, her work aims to play with perception thresholds and gain a deeper understanding of how we interact with our surroundings.
Recent exhibition, DETERMINATION67P/22f, The Glue Factory, Glasgow, Scotland (2015) was a catalyst for her current project with sound artist Kenny Love. She has been selected to undertake an Interdisciplinary Residency at Hospitalfield Arts, Scotland in November 2015.
