Natasha Russell

Natasha Russell (b.1990, Cumbria, England) lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland. Russell’s practice incorporates education, technician, workshops, site specific residencies within the mediums of printmaking and illustration. Russell’s colour palette is primarily monochrome, but also takes colour from elemental forces. Russell weaves surrealist situations, drawing from folklore as well as contemporary narratives.

REFRACTION

The twelve artists of The Number Shop present REFRACTION: a sequence of screen-based works that mutate from the starting theme of Binge Watching. Taking the framework of the parlour game Telephone, REFRACTION brings together fields of stop-motion, digital animation, illustration and film in a 24-hour collaborative loop.
