Sam Venables (b.1986, Liverpool) Lives and works in Glasgow, UK. Sam Venables studied at The School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies at The University of Leeds graduating with BA Fine Art in 2009.
Interests include but not limited to : Display mechanisms, Methods of presentation and Signwriting.
Selected curated projects include: IT’S FRIDAY – shop front gallery Glasgow; BMW (BIG MASSIVE WORK) at Supernormal festival, Oxfordshire, Ceri Hand Gallery, London and Edinburgh Annuale; TOOOLS at Sluice Art Fair with The Royal Standard, Liverpool; BIG END KNOCK with Linny Venables at Rouge Project Space, Manchester; LOVE IN at Supercollider, Blackpool; Space Exchange at Aid & Abet, Cambridge; and PARTS UNKNOWN at Embassy, Edinburgh.
Commissions include: A-N stall build at the Scarborough Art Party 2013; CAFE VALISE- Cart build commission to house John Cooper Clarke poem; As part of Cafe Valise (Liverpool Biennial) Metal Gallery, Edge Hill Station, Liverpool 2012.
