Steven Grainger

Steven Grainger draws inspiration from household objects and the human body but pushes these references into unfamiliar territory. Alongside his sculptural works, Grainger has consistently worked with legal documents; regularly leaving all of his possessions to an individual or group- known or unknown- in the form of a Will or Testament. Grainger’s objects and situations appear familiar but begin to give way to something more absurd and occasionally unsettling.
Recent projects and exhibitions include: ‘ Sometimes I Pretend I’m A Cowboy’, House for an Art Lover, Glasgow(2014);’Equity Release’ performed at Royal Bank of Scotland,Edinburgh(2014); ‘Dear Green’ ZK/U, Berlin (2014);and ‘ZEIT_WERT_ZEIT’, Landia Foundation for Art and Economy, Berlin ( 2013).
