Beatriz Santiago Muñoz
Beatriz Santiago Muñoz’s work uses specific existing situations and draws out relationships present within them; between people, histories, material conditions, and the non-human environment.
Post-Military Cinema is a moving image project about the ideology embedded in the physical landscape of a decommissioned US Navy Base in the town of Ceiba, Puerto Rico. The camera treats the entire base as the cinematic apparatus, looking for all elements in the apparent environment; the source of light, the image produced by the play of light and object, the frame, movement, the audience and the screen.
