Blocked Arch, Deferred Ceremony, Dawn Chorus. Tra-diddle da. Like a fly in slow suspense.
Canadian artist Gareth Moore’s performances and sculptures often blur the lines between art and life, typically pushing against the established and conventional frameworks of presentation and reception of art. Humble exercises in economics, his works subversively examine habits of consumerism and his objects and installations are usually fashioned out of unorthodox or discarded materials.
Produced during his three month production residency at Glasgow Sculpture Studios (January – April 2014), Moore’s major new commission engages with the environment and landscape surrounding the studios and the Possilpark area.
Supported by Glasgow International, Creative Scotland’s Quality Arts Programme, The Henry Moore Foundation and The Elephant Trust.
