ESTAR(SER), a.k.a., the Esthetical Society for Transcendental and Applied Realization (now incorporating the Society of Esthetic Realizers), is a research collective concerned with the history of attention and attentional practices.
Associates maintain an archive of relevant primary sources and undertake collaborative inquiries into these materials — publishing their results in The Proceedings of ESTAR(SER) and other venues, and presenting works-in-progress in various symposia, workshops, and lecture settings.
A major compilation of this research, spanning the last twenty years, is forthcoming in In Search of the Third Bird from Strange Attractor & MIT Press in November 2021.
