This exhibition was due to take place during Glasgow International 2020, 23 April – 10 May, which has been postponed due to the Covid-19 crisis. The festival will be re-staged in 2021 with dates to be announced.

A semi-fictional serialised radio play written especially for Glasgow International 2020, What’s he doing here? asks vital questions about the relationship between the festival and the city. Every day during GI, Glasgow-based artists Adrien Hester and Elizabeth Murphy are releasing a new fifteen-minute episode that responds directly to the people and places that make up the city’s diverse creative communities.

Paying close attention to underrepresented people and enclaves of queer, the play combines field recordings with methods of improvisation to create a continuous chorus of voices. As it develops, the story forms a direct response to the actions, events, conversations and concerns of Glasgow during festival time. The project culminates with a live-to-air event hosted by CCA Glasgow on Sunday 10th May.
