26 Civic St, Glasgow G4 9RH
This exhibition was due to take place during Glasgow International 2020, 23 April – 10 May, which has been postponed due to the Covid-19 crisis. The festival will be re-staged in 2021 with dates to be announced.
Bordered Miles is a day-long group walk from the centre of Glasgow to Dungavel House immigration removal centre, approximately 26 miles south of the city. An extension of Iman Tajik’s ongoing interest in making work for the public realm, the walk draws attention to the movement of bodies as a natural right of any species.
Bordered Miles emphasises the ways that bodily movement crosses or is constrained by multiple borders, both visible and invisible. Developed in partnership with Deveron Projects, and culminating in a group action at Dungavel, Bordered Miles provides time for participants to walk and talk together. An accompanying exhibition of documentation, with further opportunities for conversation, is taking place at Civic House.
