10 Berkeley Terrace Lane, G3 7DB
This exhibition was due to take place during Glasgow International 2020, 23 April – 10 May, which has been postponed due to the Covid-19 crisis. The festival will be re-staged in 2021 with dates to be announced.
For one night only, a roller-shutter garage down a narrow lane behind Glasgow’s Mitchell Library hosts Garage Vivant – a series of public performances at the intersection between theatre and visual art.
Minty Donald, Neil McGuire and Nick Millar have invited other artists and artist groups – Nic Green, Ashanti Harris, Stewart Laing, collaborative duo Pester and Rossi, and David Sherry – to respond to the location through the concept of the tableau vivant.
The tableau vivant is an artform in which silent actors or models, sometimes in costume, form static scenes with objects or props and lighting.
