This exhibition was due to take place during Glasgow International 2020, 23 April – 10 May, which has been postponed due to the Covid-19 crisis. The festival will be re-staged in 2021 with dates to be announced.

7×7 is the first Scottish solo show for susan pui san lok. lok is an artist, writer and researcher based in London. Her work ranges across moving image, installation, sound, performance and text, and often evolves out of interest in notions of nostalgia and aspiration, place and migration, translation and diaspora.

Incorporating site-specific installation, sound and sculpture, the exhibition foregrounds the artist’s enquiry into the history and folklore around witchcraft, and themes of power, place, memory, voice and witnessing. Inspired by local stories and sites including Pollok House and the Mugdock Park Drowning Ponds, 7×7 seeks to connects narratives of persecution and resistance.
