Bust Out

In this show emerging artists from Scotland and Iceland shared a common thread, through diverse approaches to the painted surface. Painted back cloths and props by Scott created a theatrical space expressing ideas about being on show, playing with the relationship between the observer and the observed. The space was a setting for a programme of performances and events.

The artists that Scott had selected made work that was mischievous and challenging, often approaching dark and personal subjects with irreverence and a sense of humour. Those included in the show from the field of painting were Valerie Norris, Rowan Mace, Pester and Rossi and Elin Anna Porisdottir. In the field of performance they were Sarah Kenchington, Mark Vernon, Elin Porisdottir, Fallope and The Tubes, Halldor Ulfrasson and The Rubber Band.
