The Rookery

The Rookery acted as an introduction to the people, site, ethos and identity of The Albatross, a new studio space based in a 100 year old workshop in Govanhill.

Studio-holders performed as both cast and crew in the production of an off-season pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk, as well as contributing to an adjoining exhibition exploring notions of amateurism , performance and community.

There were three performances of the pantomime in this thrown-together theatre in the final weekend of the festival and the venue was open for viewing throughout. The project also featured publications, installations, videos, research workshops and events.
