Bone Meal

Bone Meal brought together six Glasgow-based artists to show new work at The Hidden Gardens. Using performance and writing to develop sculpture, sound and video installations, their work engaged with living and life-supporting elements of the garden.

Used as a nutritional supplement and fertiliser, bone meal speaks to the bodily resonance and interconnectivity of materials in our cycles of production and reproduction.

A performance and reading event was held in support of the exhibition.

Bone Meal was the culmination of nearly two years of production residencies, conversation and research, including an evening of performances titled Mineral Supplements at Glasgow International 2016.

Supported by Glasgow International, Creative Scotland, The Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Canada House and the Cass Sculpture Foundation.
