Glasgow International Festival of Contemporary Art

Archive

The first Glasgow International Festival of Contemporary Visual Art took place in 2005. It was then held annually before becoming biennial following the 2006 festival.

These archive pages provide access to information and documentation from across the festival’s history. Currently, the pages include materials from the six festivals held between 2010 and 2021. The archives for the 2005, 2006 and 2008 festivals will be added as soon as possible.

This archive is built around materials in Glasgow International’s records. We have made every effort to ensure that the work of artists, curators and organisers that have contributed to the festivals is accurately presented. However, we are aware there may be some gaps or inaccuracies. If you identify information relating to your own work that you believe to be incorrect or missing, please let us know by contacting info@glasgowinternational.org. If you have additional digitised materials you would like to add to this archive, we would be happy to receive them.

We are very grateful to all the artists, curators and organisations who have participated in Glasgow International since 2005, and who have generated such a rich and significant archive. We hope that visitors to this site will find it a valuable resource.

Compiling this archive has been an extensive task and involved the support of many people. We are particularly grateful to Ailie Fleming, Mollika Khandelwal, Eva López, MollyMae Whawell and Ella Williamson for all their work in assembling this material.
