Adam Christie

Adam Christie (1868-1950) was a Shetlander, born in Aith, Cunningsburgh. At the age of 32, Adam became unwell and was taken to the mainland for mental health treatment at Sunnyside Hospital in Montrose, where he stayed until his death in 1950. During his time in hospital, he liked to create and make things out of stone and wood, such as his head sculptures that he hid around the hospital grounds.
