Ana Beatriz Almeida

Ana Beatriz Almeida (b. 1987 in Brazil) lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil. In November 2019, Ana Beatriz Almeida directed the Death & Life Residency with Melvin Edwards, Helen Sebidi, Kapela Paulo and others at Cachoeira/BA the biggest former slavery city in Brazil. At the end of 2009 she taught short workshops about her research on new tools for contemporary art criticism and art history based on African and African Descent death rites. In the beginning of 2019 she developed an independent curatorial project that traveled through Gana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria supported by Ano Institute and CCA-Lagos.
