The images shown above represent the Glasgow International 2024 project that Cindy Islam is participating in, as well as the artist’s individual practice.

Cindy Islam is Sufi sound artist and performer. The artist is also the veiled woman, whose anonymity celebrates severing ties between the body and materialism. The veiled fabric (burqa – برقع) depicts an anarchistic position, a confrontation to islamophobia and rejection of the contrary and paradoxical myth of cultural assimilation.
