Drawing on myriad sources, from architecture and design to nature and popular culture, Comte creates paintings and sculptural works that playfully explore the relationship between material, space, and form.
Often creating site-specific works, Comte investigates the way artwork can transform a space, combining surprising materials, textures, and colors to turn a static room into a dynamic environment.
Selected exhibitions include, 'Claudia Comte & Omar Ba', Centre Pasquart, Biel, Switzerland, (2013); 'If I were a rabbit, where would I keep my gloves?', BolteLang, Zurich, Switzerland, (2013); 'X, Y, Z', Friart, Centre d’Art de Fribourg, Switzerland, (2013); and 'Summer Villa Extension', Centre Culturel Suisse, Paris, France (2013).
