Hayley Tompkins (b.1971, Leighton Buzzard, UK) lives in works in Glasgow, Scotland. Tompkins is a painter whose intimate, crafted works allude to common, shared histories and a sense of the joy in sensory experience itself. She uses paint, photography, furniture and film to translate a private, subjective language. Each piece seeking a fresh form of particularity of appearance whilst questioning forms and periods from art history.
