Lewis Matheson

Lewis Matheson (b. 1990) lives and works in Edinburgh.

Matheson is a contemporary artist working across Scotland. Interested in the land and culture of his homeland, his work, which directly results from his experiences of Scottish landscape, uses photography, text, poetry, sculpture and publishing. From a marriage of solitude and consideration, Matheson’s practice creates ambiguous extractions of moment, place and emotion.

Group exhibitions include: MELON – Slice 4, Edinburgh Art Festival, The Number Shop, Edinburgh, Scotland (2017); Return Flight MEL-EDI, The Number Shop, Edinburgh, Scotland (2017); GOULASH, Edinburgh Art Festvial, The Number Shop, Edinburgh, Scotland (2016); Members Show, Generator Projects, Dundee, Scotland, 2015; Black Cube Collective, St Margaret’s House, Edinburgh, Scotland (2014); Art On The Rocks Festival, Bell Pettigrew Museum, St Andrews, Scotland (2014).
