Marc Baines

Marc Baines is a cartoonist, illustrator, printmaker and publisher. He has an MPhil from Glasgow School of Art and now teaches in the Illustration department there.During the 1990s he co-ran Vesuvius Records with Pat Laureate of Melody Dog andBrian McDougall of the Yummy Fur and edited anthologies of travel stories and spooky tales. He has contributed comics to Ugly Mug, Witch and Offbeat magazines and exhibited in Glasgow, Stirling, London and Philadelphia. His imprint Kingly Books is one of the few publishers of new independent comics in the UK and a spin-off imprint, Kingly-Reprieve, has recently started publishing crime novels by cult film-makers. The kinglybooks.com website has regular on-line exhibitions and an archive that includes a selection of Baines' record sleeves.
