You’re Never Done is a group exhibition featuring works by local and international artists that explores the invisible narratives of labour within our cities.

Originally, the exhibition was inspired by Glasgow’s public washhouses (known as ‘Steamies’) and the wages for housework movement. It was intended to take the form of a collaborative space created to address the gendered division of labour and visibility within working-class communities.

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the sudden shift in the working practices of many people has provided an important opportunity to recognise that the world’s economies and the maintenance of our daily lives are built on the invisible and often unpaid labour of women. The show is a gesture towards reclaiming spaces, reimagining the labour of women, and politicising the lack of art resources within communities in Glasgow North.
