seven x seven is the first Scottish solo presentation for susan pui san lok. lok is an artist, writer and researcher based in London. Her work ranges across moving image, installation, sound and text, and often evolves out of interest in notions of nostalgia and aspiration, place and migration, translation and diaspora.
Incorporating work across a range of media, seven x seven foregrounds the artist’s enquiry into the history and folklore around witchcraft, and themes of power, place, memory, voice and witnessing. Inspired by local stories and sites including Pollok House and the Mugdock Park Drowning Ponds, seven x seven seeks to connect narratives of persecution and resistance.
