Glasgow International invites Glasgow-based artists, independent curators, artist run spaces, arts and community organisers to a discussion forum on Glasgow International 2026's Open Programme.
In advance of an open-call for submissions being launched in March 2025, this is an opportunity to hear about, discuss and have your say in plans for Glasgow International’s Open Programme at the next edition of the festival in June 2026.
Glasgow International is a biennial festival with a history of celebrating the unique depth and long-standing vibrancy of the city’s contemporary visual arts scene. Core to the festival is the Open Programme which is made up of projects conceived and delivered by Glasgow-based arts organisations, artist-led initiatives, artists and independent curators selected through an open submission, many of which receive funding and practical support from Glasgow International.
Since the first edition in 2005, Glasgow International has evolved and adapted to the changing needs of the community of artists and arts organisations in the city, while connecting artists and audiences internationally and nationally. Building on the 2024 edition of the festival, the development of Glasgow International and its presence in the city will continue to centre the ethos of collective endeavour.
The forum is an opportunity for those interested in being part of the next festival in June 2026 to find out more about the Open Programme and the application and selection process. We also want to hear people’s ideas and expectations for the festival in 2026, whether you’ve participated in Glasgow International previously or not; and whether you’re thinking of applying to the Open Programme or just planning on presenting a visual arts project in Glasgow in June 2026.
