An evening celebrating the life and legacy of artist Sandra George, with a discussion between artist Christian Noelle Charles, and writers Zoe Lorimer and Titilayo Farukuoye. This event creates space for meaningful conversation and connection, honouring Sandra’s contributions while highlighting the ongoing importance of amplifying Black voices in the arts. It offers an opportunity to gain insight into Sandra’s work and participatory practice and its profound impact on Scotland’s artistic landscape, and to explore the intersections of art and community engagement. This discussion will also engage in a reflective dialogue on the experiences of living as Black women in Scotland, and the pivotal role of community in navigating challenges and fostering resilience.
