40 Fox Street 2021
On the corner of Fox Street and Maxwell Street in central Glasgow is 40 Fox Street, an assuming building that has housed a range of recent tenants: from a private college accused of false advertising (the sign is still visible outside) to a private members’ club.
The street itself is named after Whig politician Charles James Fox (1749 – 1806), an anti-slavery campaigner, supporter of the French Revolution and parliamentary advocate for religious tolerance.
