Orange Brainwash Tribute

A woman is standing in the middle of the room with a full crowd behind her. She is speaking into a microphone and pointing to and looking at somewhere in the distance. There are long tables placed on either side of the woman.

Sue Tompkins is a collector of found phrases, words, and lyrics. Through her typed and spoken works she represents snatches of material gleaned from the everyday, distorting meaning by playing with  their arrangement and delivery.

For Glasgow International 2014 she presented a new performance. The performance was also presented as part of a programme presented in partnership with BBC ARTS, Media Partner for Glasgow International 2014 which included three events at BBC Scotland Pacific Quay featuring Fiona Jardine, Mark Beasley and Sue Tompkins.
