Chester Man

For his first show at Mary, Mary, London-based Jesse Wine presented a group of new ceramic sculptural works. Using traditional materials and construction methods, he produces a vast array of sculptural forms, self portraits and abstract vessel-like structures.

Wine works with his materials in a gestural manner, modelling forms that seem to fold inwards or collapse, and embracing the element of chance - often relinquishing control over glazes and the effects they produce.
